Digital Digest: Microsoft Publisher Sunsetting on October 1st

Microsoft Publisher will be sunsetting on October 1st, 2026. If you want access to any of your saved files in Microsoft Publisher, please follow Microsoft’s suggestion of downloading all .pub as PDF’s before October 1st. You can find more about Microsoft’s suggestions for downloading files here.

If edits are needed, we suggest you use Kami or Canva to edit the PDF’s you downloaded. You can learn more about the PDF editing tools available in each software below:

Classroom Manager (Classwize) Dashboard Update

Classroom Manager (Classwize) has a new customizable dashboard. Teachers can now customize the layout of students on their dashboard and resize student tiles. Teachers can apply tools to a group of students within their class. Teachers can highlight the students, or use the checkbox next to the students’ name, and apply a tool. Tools include the following:

  • Focus rule
  • Pause the internet
  • Announcement
  • Open Tab
  • Screenshare

Important Software Updates: Canva & Zoom

  • A 30-day retention policy for Zoom Cloud recordings will go into effect on September 30th. If you record a Zoom meeting to the Zoom Cloud, it will only be stored for 30 days before it is auto-deleted. You can find directions for saving your Zoom Cloud recordings to your desktop on Slide 2 in the presentation below.

  • If you need to upgrade your Zoom account to a Zoom EDU license, please complete the form on Slide 2 in the presentation below.

  • The [Archived Hall County Schools] Canva team will go away on October 16th. Any designs not copied over to your assigned team will not be accessible. Directions on how to copy designs to your assigned team can be found on Slide 4 in the presentation below.
